The Dangerous Method is a gripping psychological drama that offers a glimpse into the origins of psychoanalysis. Directed by David Cronenberg, the film is based on a true story and explores the complex relationships between three brilliant minds—Carl Jung (Michael Fassbender), Sigmund Freud (Viggo Mortensen), and the enigmatic, passionate Sabina Spielrein (Keira Knightley).
The film delves into the struggle between science and desire, power and vulnerability, intellect and instinct, as the characters push each other’s boundaries. Jung and Freud’s ideas clash, while Sabina, a talented yet tormented woman, becomes not only a patient but also an inspiration to both men. Their intellectual battles are intertwined with moments of passion and provocation, set against the backdrop of a revolutionary new field of study.
The Dangerous Method is both intense and sensual, filled with deep psychological dilemmas and historically significant debates. If you're fascinated by psychoanalysis, charismatic characters, and an exploration of the darker, hidden corners of human nature, this film is not to be missed.
Since the film runs for 1 hours and 45 minutes, we’ll include a 30-minute intermission. During this break, you’ll have the chance to visit the restroom, step outside for a smoke, stretch your legs, or refill your drinks.

Our special guest for the evening is Ádám Horváth, a psychologist and sexology specialist, who will guide us in exploring the deeper layers of what we’ve just seen.
A graduate of ELTE University, Ádám has years of experience specializing in sexuality and relationship topics. His goal is to foster an open, non-judgmental environment for understanding the often-sensitive issues around sexuality and relationships. He believes that there is no room for euphemisms when it comes to discussing sexual matters.
With Ádám, we’ll have a chance to explore the BDSM and kinky scenes of the film and gain a deeper understanding of them – in a welcoming space where we can openly discuss our desires and the questions that interest us.
This is rare among our club programs, so we encourage everyone to join us and immerse themselves in the kinky world at their own pace, as well as to get to know the Ministry of Freedom community.
Like in a real movie theater, we’ll have popcorn, nachos, and cola so you can enjoy the full experience!
After the movie, you’ll have the chance to stay until midnight, enjoy a drink, chat, or explore what the space has to offer.
